Course Description This course addresses the history of digital communication technologies and infrastructures from a critical and analytical perspective. The course will be structured in two parts. In the first theoretical part, the course will focus on the history and spread of digital technologies such as communication networks and infrastructures, computers, supercomputers and mobile communication devices, also stressing the histories of successful and failed projects in the digital market. In the second part, thanks to the collaboration with the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci, students will engage in an empirical work, under the supervision of the teacher, on the history of digital technologies starting from an object, a model or a document selected from the museum's collections.
