Course Description Introduction to basic electric quantities. Kirchhoff Laws. Resistive one-port elements. Element constraints. Electric Power. Solution of simple circuits. Two-port elements. Controlled sources. Special two-port elements. Matrix representation. Analysis of resistive circuits: general methods, superposition principle. Thevenin and Norton equivalent one-ports. Dynamic components: capacitors, inductors, coupled inductors. Linear first order dynamic circuits (RC and RL). Sinusoidal steady state: phasor analysis, impedance and admittance, power, applications (resonance, maximum power transfer, impedance matching, power factor). Elementary three-phase circuits. Magnetic circuits (magnetic flux, reluctance) and real transformers. Electromagnetic fields theory: electrostatic fields and slow time-varying fields. Faraday's law and Ampere's law (integral form). Gauss' law. Conservation of charge.
