Course Description The course aims to introduce: a. The basic principles of cell biology, with particular reference to the biology and physiology of prokaryotic cells b. Problems related to bacterial contamination and possible solutions feasible in engineering product and process (e.g., materials for medicine, food engineering, etc.) c. The study of bacteria in the production and process engineering The course will be divided into the following modules, organized into lectures, seminars and group work. 1. Introduction to cell biology and the biology and physiology of bacteria 1.1. Classification of cells and outline their main distinguishing features 1.2.
