The process approach; requirements for quality managment systems; top managment responsability, project and people managment; products; measurements, analysis and improvement. Instrumentation control. Basic Metrology: the International System of units, accuracy, precision, instrument calibration, measurement traceability, international standards and working standards. Measurement uncertainty. Quality control. The Shewhart and Deming approach. Shewhart control charts: general theory and applications. Control charts for variables and attributes. Process capability and capability indexes. Assessing the causes of uncontrolled variability: Pareto and Ishikawa diagrams.
